Brands Hatch 27th June 07 On the 27th June Regal organised a 'Hot Lap Day' at brands hatch in the Regal MK5 VW Cup car and the 366 BHP track ready Regal Astra VXR.
The prices were £35 for 3 laps in the passenger seat of either, or £50 for 3 laps in the passenger seat of each. This included the insurance for the particinants time on the track.

The cars were driven by Tony Gillham - our VW Cup Race Driver, who knows brands like the back of his hand and holds the lap record at this track in the VW Cup - this was the fastest alot of people had ever lapped the track!
The VXR ran in the morning (8-12) and the cup car was on track (1-4) in the afternoon.

"Fantastically strong brakes, with absolutly zero fade and positive feel... suspension is just so quick to react, the FSD system really comes alive when trying to hang onto the apex using the rumble strips!" He also said "there is more power there then you will ever need - and it remains responsive at any engine rpm. No lag and no torque steer yet oodles of torque in reserve. As a package, i think this car would be very very very hard to beat out on track..... can i take it home?."
The Day was a great oppurtunity for us to test the 360 bhp kit to the limit of its capabilites.... and it passed with flying colours. The car drove 100+ miles home after the full day of track testing without a single complaint from any component.
This really is testement to the development time and effort put in to the project by all involved. Special thanks are due to Arno at EDS for putting the hours in on the software, without the software all the component specification on the car would be worthless. Software is the key...also massive thanks to 888 for the loan of wheels and slicks and Alcon for the special recipe pads!

Engine: 2.0 Z20LEH engine with a Garrett GT28RS turbo with equal length tubular manifold, forged low comp pistons, steel rods, Regal inlet cam and Dbilas flow master system.
Ancillaries: Cool running thermostat, Regal black Samco hose kit and under drive pulley.
Exhaust: Magnex cat back system with precat removal pipe.
Transmission: Standard. 4 hours continuous track time shows there is no need for uprated clutches or limited slip differentials.
Suspension: Eibach springs with Koni FSD shocks and Lexmaul front strut brace.
Brakes: Alcon343mm 888 Brake kit with custom compound Regal 'black' track spec pads.
Fully Dyno proven 360 bhp.
